The Art Biennial of Cerveira is the oldest art festival in Portugal. It focuses on the promotion of contemporary art. Existing since 1978, this event is of national and international repute, fostering and stimulating the region’s creativity, its cultural decentralization and internationalization. This Biennial has, for over 35 years, provided a space for meeting, interaction and dissemination of ideas and an opportunity for the acknowledgement of national and international artists.
In 2015, the XVIII Biennial of Cerveira took place from July 18th to September 19th with the theme: “Looking At The Past To Build The Future”.
My participation in the 18th Cerveira Biennial comprised two video installations:
-
- The Globalising Wall (2012). A work initially presented at the International Adelaide Festival – Restless in Australia. This will be the first screening of this work in Europe.
- Vital Space Humanity – Istanbul (2010). Initially presented at the exhibition “Lives and Works in Istanbul” in the context of Istanbul Cultural Capital of Europe 2010
