Flowers: Greece – Holland

Solo Exhibition

Kappatos Gallery

Duration: 10 October – 6 November 2020

Athens, Greece, 2020

In the exhibition Flowers: Greece – Holland, Danae Stratou presents a project she has carried out in two countries, Greece and the Netherlands. The exploration through the juxtaposition of the images may be able to illuminate both the commonalities and the differences in the North-South divide that is being created in this era of deconstruction of Europe after the Eurozone crisis. Indigenous varieties remain in their natural form in the Greek landscape while they have been transported for centuries to the Netherlands and cultivated on vast areas in genetically modified enhanced form for sale and export worldwide.
